A little bit about me...

I believe that every child that walks through my door has his or her own special qualities and gifts, and can learn each and every day. It is my job to maximize student potential and facilitate that learning. I take the privilege and responsibility of teaching very seriously.

My bachelor's degree is in History, from UTA, I have a master's degree in Educational Administration from Lamar University, and I earned my teaching certification from UNT. I have the following certifications:  EC-4 Generalist, 4-8 English, Language Arts, and Reading, 4-8 Social Studies Composite, 6-12 History, 4-8 Generalist, and ESL. I am also a GT trained teacher and have my Principal's certification.  In 2012, I was fortunate and honored to be a part of a team of three educators who created an elementary writing program.  It was published through the Region 13 Service Center, and is titled "The Writing Adventures of Nelda and Erwin:  Discovering Narrative and Expository Writing."

This is my 10th year to teach in Dripping Springs, and I previously taught in Denton ISD.  I have taught 6th grade, 5th grade, GT, 4th grade, 3rd grade, reading intervention, middle school and high school homebound students, and adult ESL and GED classes.  I have been married to my husband, Troy, for 21 years, and we have two sons, Parker who is 17 and Connor who is 16.  I love it when my students, past or present, see me out and about and say hello, so don't be shy!
